but they say there different servers all synced into one, so if we could run multiple servers, then we get multiple traffic.

It's still "one" server though. We'll just have a lot of slots. And do we even have the hardware to do this? If not, does that mean we're going to have to pay for it?

its a cloud server, basically different Ip addresses but all go to the same place, if we did this I would dedicate another server and order another IP address. basically we would be running 2 different communities even though they are the same. Alot of old CS servers did this, you would connect to the server that said it was something else and it would bring you to main server, and the other servers would act as over flow. idk it just seems like it has potential to bring in more players.

yes and no. its still the same shitty admins so only people that put up with shit are gunna play on either server. and u guys need to vote and advertise and shit so we get more people so we could do this for legit

One good thing I see out of this is the ease with worlds can have permissions.
Right now we have one permissions file, but if we have multiple servers, a single permissions file for each server would be a lot less tedious for smaller fixes.

I don't know if I'm the only one, but when I log on, and I'm on the main world, I get a lot of lag for like 30 seconds. Like just nothing happens. I don't know how to fix this. Maybe someone else does.

I think having a vote for reward would greatly improve traffic. People like fake stuff for some reason, and if you added an in game rpg ranking system- maybe even jump courses with XP rewards at the end that you can only access at certain ranks, and only certain ranks allow for special abillities. Basically it would make a non-community way to "rank up". Check out how the prison server bains penetentiary runs theirs. You could try to do something similar. Well, obviously without the mines, farms, and prison. Really though, check that out, I would like to see an in game rank system here!

there is currently or there was at one time a reward system for voting. you would get I think 3 diamonds for voting, no one really ever took advantage of it sadly. Their is currently a RPG system that levels up a large variety of skills, if you want to look into it, its called mcmmo.
and currently were working on adventure maps and adding quests to them.
This is going to be a long process, but it will be done eventually.
I was thinking about adding some new achievable prefix ranks. these ranks would rewards for quests, events, and other achievements.

Right, I knew about the Mcmmo, but I was thinking more along the lines of getting money to rank up, and completing tasks will help you get money, or you can sell items to other players, and once you get lets say, 5k you can rank up to a new rank with maybe kit or something, and then 10k/15k/25k/50k/100k/150k. Each level has different advantages, and it would make it so that you don't have to necessarily rank up within the community. This may even solve the friction from people that just shouldn't have mouths trying to fit into a pretty tight community. So, while the Mcmmo is fun and all, it is really individual and hard to show off. Adding a similar system could be really fun. I would be happy to find some resources and make a layout for the permissions and ranks, if you want.

only problem with money to rank up is /sell there's people with billions of dollars.
probably try to figure something out where you get a different type of experience for doing things quest related.

Well you can always just restrict the selling of item to quest specific items right? That would be cool
What abillities does an admin have to control the items in game?
Also, what about making labor vs skill areas? Labor would be much much easier and you would basically just dig a shit ton, and sell the items to an admin shop in the area. Skill would be doing quests, pvp and parkour.
What do you think about that?

idk I'm starting to think its the poney shit you assholes still have.
and also, that was also something I had in mind, one of the maps were working on right now is going to be cobining jump quest and combat, It's actually the first map that will be released as it's just about done, were just making it look more like a dungeon then a cave.

Being a brony isn't pedophilia or gay. The reality is that it may be slightly more feminine than say guns or motorcycles, however it does produce some cool people and according to them makes them nicer and spreads love. Even though, ironically enough they get violent when someone disses them.. But that is aside the point! If better traffic to the site is going to be acheived, an archive should be made of all current off topic posts, so you can still loom back at them, and then we should pay for some simple bidding advertising, as well as being on many voting sites/ mcforum. If there were to be a list of necessary things to improve traffic, it would look like this:
Immediatly start making videos that are entertaining and fun, that users on youtube may type in "minecraft server" and find tsc through
The website needs to get into a more relatable category for searches
Advertisements are essential for high traffic
There need to be friendly staff.
I think it is as simple as that. I hate to continue to relate back to this, but on the bains penetentiary, which was the second largest, and longest running prison server on minecraft, they structured their heirarchy very strictly. If you were to be an admin, you had to be totally heartless and follow the rules like a robot. Then there were lower ranks that were still of authority minus abillity to take strict action, as you get lower in rank. It looked like this. (In the rpg terms first)
1.Guard trainee--2.guard--3.alphaguard--4.warden
In applicable terms
1.whatever the name may be, the idea is simple. The job is to learn how to run the server, without really any tools. The 'hazing' is bad, i.e. dealing with a ton of crap and not screwing up ever. This was used mostly just to keep track of who was new to the staff.
2.the equivalence of a mini-mod (not in your definition, but literally) just some power to mute for 10minutes, keeps some order and is usually an intelligent memeber of the community. There would be multiple of these at a time.
3. This is the same as a mod. Abillity to ban, mute, go invisible, moderate etc.
You guys know that one.
4. Admin. Only a couple, though. For instance, there were 3 in a server that had 25-30 new people a day. I am well aware that administrative powers on this server are given to all who truly deserve it, but really, a secondary rank should probably be considered for those that mostly just screw around. I think that there needs to be- in any large, professional server, a staff that is just: staff. They do their jobs and when they don't want to do it anymore, they retire and another worthy person fills the space. Simple as that. Alternate ranks could easily be made to appease the current admin mods that usually just have fun and aren't on just to watch for trouble.
Now again, most of this would have to be refined, and polished for tsc, but in the end, a method like this is necessary to run a large scale server. Obviously it may be a ton of work, but I think if you are looking for ways to up the player count (kind of talking straight to you tim) then looking at other servers may be smart. That includes mods, plugins, how the staff is run etc. what do you think?
