So as you may have noticed, there has been quite a bit of lag at spawn. We recently discovered what was causing that lag. Item Frames each count as an entity rather than a block, so it's like there are items floating around on the ground, but they don't despawn. We cleaned up almost all of the item frames at spawn and the lag is no longer there.

They may look nice, but they cause lag. Don't use them.
